20dB noise reduction achieved by efficient vibration isolation

Working with FHP Partnership, ACE designed, manufactured and installed a range of high deflection vibration isolation equipment to isolate the pumps from the building structure.

Lorne Stewart Ltd modified the pipework and undertook the electrical work. Careful co-ordination of the work programme ensured there was no disruption to the normal operation of the hotel.

The cost of the treatment was minimised by a phased programme of work. This provided a fixed maximum cost with the possibility of achieving a suitable noise level at less than the budgeted price.

This work reduced the noise level in the rooms below by 14.5dB(A). Equally importantly, the tonal 'drone' due to the pump operational speed of 2800rpm, that had previously made the pump noise even more intrusive was removed with a reduction of 19.5dB. This impressive performance means that 98.8% of the most disturbing vibrational energy has been removed from the structure.
